Back to Testimonies
In October 2024, I started to cough a lot and uncontrollable, for maybe three months. On Boxing Day, I started to get a sharp pain in my right rib. The day before we were meant to go to Paris for Le Sainctaire de Dieu’s New Year Service. But I woke up, and I couldn’t get up, it was the most intense pain. I went to get the chest X-ray just as a precaution, and my dad and my sister waited for me at the hospital so we could take a later boat.
However, after the chest x-ray, they called me back and told me to go get a blood test, they need to do further tests. That led to them admitting me into hospital – much to our shock because they’ve found abnormalities in my chest x-ray and they don’t know what it is.
After a night in A&E with my mum and my sister, they gave me a bed the next day; where they told me they suspect I have blood cancer or a fungal infection.
This was a shock to me and my family, but also the doctors, because I didn’t look sick at all, I wasn’t presenting any symptoms. But they scheduled me for a biopsy for late January.
I went to do a biopsy and a PET scan. My biopsy, probably the worst 20 minutes of my life, where they stuck a big tube down my throat with a needle, and I felt like I was fighting for my breath, for my life. All I could was call upon the name of Jesus
On the 26th of February, they diagnosed me with stage 4, last stage Lymphoma, a type of blood cancer.
It had spread to my lungs, my liver, my spleen, my neck and my bone marrow. One of the masses on my lungs was 6cm
As I processed the news with my family. I thought back to January when I was in Mauritius. I went for a month and there I did a mini- internship in Production with Peniel Production. When I first got the warning sign in December, I felt the need to leave, to escape, to be anywhere else but here. But something changed in me during this time. God was speaking to me. I had prophecies and prophecies spoken over my life, I was focusing on how to better this church, how to step into my ministry and what I felt like God was calling me into, hence the internship.
And someone there told me that walking in the direction towards God means the enemy will try to fight you, because you’re going against the enemy and towards God. Because he only attacks if there’s something there, potential to be attacked.
God knew why I needed to be in Mauritius at the time, the prophecies I needed to hear because when I got the confirmation of cancer, and the advancement, I held onto God’s promises like an anchor. I felt the peace of the Holy Spirit over me. A peace wash over me that transcended my own understanding, that even my dad was shocked to hear. I knew that God had more for me than this sickness, it doesn’t belong to me, and God won’t let it take me. He revealed to me that there’s so much more coming for me on the other side of this, and while things started to make sense, everything was also falling apart.
But I was confused. Processing it all was hard, trusting the promise that he had for me felt contradictory. God, is this what you have for me? I thought the pieces were coming into place. I just started my new job, I had all these ideas about church and working with the youth, our online ministry.
Why is it all crumbling before me? But I felt in my heart, no. There has to be a reason, God didn’t allow the worst to happen so that nothing could come out of it. I read this verse,
“This sickness will not end in death, but it is for the glory of God, so that the son of God may be glorified through it”. John 11:4
So I kept my faith. I kept my faith in his promise for my life. That this isn’t the life or death situation that everyone around me is reacting to. He has called me to be greater.
I prepared myself for the worst side effects, for all the ones the doctors were saying could happen and I started chemotherapy at UCLH on the 26th of March. It’s a centre for teenagers and young adults. Great nurses, full of gentleness and kindness. The first 3 days of treatment was tiring; I had a mouth and throat infection that meant I couldn’t talk when I came to church.
Easter Weekend came, and I was reminded that Jesus’ tomb was not in fact empty; but it was FULL of new life. Of Hope. That Jesus conquered death and He died for my healing. I wanted to worship him through it, and carry on with the works he started out in me.
Less of me, and more of him. But, I started to lose my hair about a week before Easter. It was probably the one of the hardest parts of it all, for me and my family. I was hurting, asking God so many questions. I knew I couldn’t avoid it anymore. It was here, it was real. I felt lost again, like I didn’t know how to stop this all from happening.
Then God revealed to me a verse that has helped sustain me. A psalm of David; Psalms 51:17
“Restore to me the joy of your salvation. “The fountain of your pleasure is found in the sacrifice of my shattered heart before you. You will not despise my tenderness as I bow down humbly at your feet.”
So I went to him, with what felt like a broken spirit, hurting and in need of something more than what I had and I relied on the joy of the Lord to be my strength [Nehemiah 8:10]
I had to choose, face the “reality” of my situation and sit in it or have bold faith in God’s promises. The promise that he has a plan for my life, a plan of hope, to prosper me, not harm me.
So I went to a house group meeting, and God was still speaking to me through His Word.
“The testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” James 1:3-4
From that, I carried on in my ministry, worship and media, as if nothing was going on.
The doctors told me I had to do 6 months minimum of chemotherapy, then they’ll evaluate if it’s been effective or not. My treatment is extensive. It consists of 3 days in a row of infusions; each lasting 3 or 4 hours and one the week after for an hour followed by a 2 week break. They decided that my treatment plan would be 6 cycles of chemotherapy and considering the progression of the cancer, not (my cancer) because it doesn’t belong to me. It’s not mine
On the 31st of March, I did a PET scan to see the effects of the chemotherapy on the masses. I remember walking into the doctor’s office on the 1st of May, the next day and seeing a scan on the screen.
He showed me my scan from the first PET scan, and he showed me my most recent one. We were looking at the screen confused at what we saw. Everyone was confused; my parents and I and my two sisters and my best friend who were on the phone. The doctor was using medical terminology. And I just asked him, can you just tell me in simple words what this means.
And as from May 1st, I am cancer free, and in remission from Stage IV cancer after just one month of chemotherapy. The scan was clear. I had done 2 cycles, and even the doctor was amazed because it’s unusual considering the advancement of it.
And I completed all my chemotherapy treatment on the 4th of June. I’m done. I’m free. I’m healed.
God did not abandon me. He didn’t leave me waiting alone. He didn’t forsake me. Instead he personally went ahead for me.
The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Deuteronomy 31:8
I haven’t seen a clearer display of God’s hand over my life than in these last 3 months. What he protected me from. I’ve heard the stories, I’ve had people preparing me for the worst side effects, sharing their experience. But the Lord himself went before me, and Jesus took all those side effects and he was nailed with it on the cross
I did not get one side effect after that first cycle, and even during the first cycle, my side effects were just a mouth infection and low iron levels, inconveniences.
The rest of my intensive cycles were easy on my body and it’s because he renewed my strength, everyday. It is a supernatural protection because His blood covered me, in every step I took, and His blood washed me CLEAN. I lived through one of my prophecies in January.
Thousand a thousand fall at your side, tens of thousands at your right hand, the pestilence will not reach you. You will only see it with your eyes. Psalms 91
I only saw those side effects with my eyes. Everything I thought would happen, didn’t. We took home those sick bowls from the hospital. They stayed in the back of my dads car, untouched, unused. The nurses would list the common side effects and whether I had gotten them yet each time, and the answer was always NO
God kept me. He shielded me. And the pestilence DID not reach me, it could only come near me, try to attach itself to my life. But it could not stay in my body.
He showed me His Glory. He showed my family His Glory
I thought life was throwing bricks at me, but God used those bricks to build my new foundation.
So I know, if He did this miracle for me, He will do it for you.
My son was born with a club foot. He had surgery when he was 1 month old and was always wearing a cast, changing it every 2 weeks and putting another one on for months. Then we did another bigger surgery at 9 months so that he could walk well like other kids. This was my only worry at the time, that he wouldn’t be able to run and play like other kids. The surgery went well and it looked like the doctor did a good job, but he didn’t, because his foot turned again through the years and went back to its original state, so he was walking on the side of his foot and always falling when running, unable to wear normal shoes.
Then I asked God where do I go now, because the best orthopaedic in the country didn’t do the job well, not only on my son but on many other kids who all faced the same problem; their foot would go back to the inside. So it made the first surgery pointless. I didn’t know where to go, but I only put his life in God’s hands because I had no solution.
One day we were at the supermarket, and a lady from France approached us and said to me, “I saw your son running and wearing medical shoes so I guess he has a club foot”. I found out that she had just come to Mauritius and she and her team are specialised in paediatric orthopaedics, and have treated a hundred cases with little kids and babies. But my son was 6 already, and at this age his bones were not soft and easily malleable. But I knew that God wouldn’t give hope without the intention of doing it right once and for all; God doesn’t go halfway ever. When we met the doctor from France, he said he would give it a try and had to break his bone and put the foot back in its right position.
It would cost us a lot of money to do the surgery that we didn’t have at that time. Because of Covid, my business wasn’t flourishing, but God sustained me. I saw a lot of businesses around me closing, but I was the only one who stood strong by a total miracle again.
Coming back to the surgery, we had no money, but the nice ladies found a way through a support system that sponsors children that are sick, etc., and they sponsored 3/4 of it. And the 1/4 of the money left that we needed, our families and friends blessed us through a fundraising and we got more than required for his surgery and were able to help another kid with the same situation too. They were surgery buddies. And these ladies at the supermarket knew Jesus too, they were angels that God sent to help us totally from A to Z: the money, the support, the love for kids and the kindness.
And today my son runs and wears normal shoes and his foot is totally normal. When God does something, he doesn’t do it halfway and he gives the best doctors, treatments, clinics and support system. He always comes through, just believe and you’ll see.
In late 2024, after months of severe coughing and sudden intense rib pain, I was admitted to hospital following abnormal chest X-rays. After multiple tests, biopsies, and scans, I was diagnosed with Stage IV lymphoma that had spread to my lungs, liver, spleen, neck and bone marrow.
The diagnosis shocked everyone because I showed very few symptoms. During this time, God strengthened my faith through prophecies and experiences I had, reminding me that He still had a purpose for my life. Even in confusion and fear, I held onto His promises and trusted that this sickness would not define my future.
As I struggled emotionally, God revealed to me Psalms 51:17: “Restore to me the joy of your salvation” I came to Him with a broken spirit, hurting and searching for strength beyond my own, relying on the joy of the Lord to sustain me (Nehemiah 8:10). I had to make a choice: either sit in the reality of my diagnosis or have bold faith in God’s promises, believing that He had plans for my life, plans of hope and not harm.
I began chemotherapy in March, preparing myself for severe side effects and a long treatment journey. Although losing my hair was one of the hardest moments emotionally, God continually sustained me through His Word, prayer, worship, and ministry. I chose to walk by faith instead of fear.
After only one month of chemotherapy and two treatment cycles, a PET scan revealed that I was completely cancer free and in remission from Stage IV cancer. Even the doctors were amazed by the speed of my recovery considering how advanced the cancer had been.
Throughout the process, God protected me physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Many expected difficult side effects, but aside from minor complications during the first cycle, my body remained strong. On June 4th, I completed chemotherapy fully healed and free.
This journey became a testimony of God’s faithfulness, healing, and glory, proof that He never abandoned me and that His promises remain true even in the middle of impossible situations.
