Why Kids Church?
Children aren’t too young to begin learning about God. Some of the most meaningful foundations are formed early, in ways that stay with them as they grow. As it says in Proverbs 22:6, “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”
Hopeful Kids gives children space to begin understanding who God is for themselves. Through simple teaching, prayer and shared moments, faith becomes something they can recognise in their everyday lives. It’s a place where they can feel at ease, ask questions and grow at their own pace.
Spending time in this kind of environment also helps children see church as somewhere they enjoy being, a place that feels familiar. They begin to build relationships with other children and with trusted adults who guide and support them, creating a real sense of belonging.
It also allows them to hear and experience faith in different ways. Sometimes understanding grows when something is explained differently, or when they see another child express it in their own way. These moments help shape how faith becomes real to them.

Age Groups
Children learn the same core truths, with teaching adapted to suit their age and understanding. Each session includes singing and prayer, followed by a short lesson and interactive activities such as quizzes, games and creative tasks that reflect what they’ve learned. Children also take part in worship and occasional presentations, giving them opportunities to share and take part in their own way. They are grouped by age so the way they are taught feels appropriate, clear and engaging for them.
Ages 3–6
Children are introduced to God in a simple and engaging way through stories, pictures and interactive activities. Lessons are kept easy to understand, helping them begin to learn about prayer, worship and trusting God.
Ages 7–15
Children explore their faith more deeply through structured lessons, discussions and activities. Topics include the fruits of the Spirit, the Trinity and Bible stories such as Job, helping them understand how faith applies to everyday life.

What ages is Sunday School for?
Sunday School is designed for children aged 3 – 15. Our lessons and activities are adapted to help each child learn about Jesus in a way that is engaging and age-appropriate.
What happens during Sunday School?
Children enjoy a mix of Bible teaching, prayer, worship and fun activities. Our aim is to help them understand God’s Word and grow in faith while building friendships in a safe and joyful environment.
Who teaches the children?
Our Sunday School is led by kind, loving trusted members of our church who have a heart for serving the next generation and helping children grow in their faith. All of our teachers are DBS certified.
How often does Sunday School take place?
Kids Church runs every Sunday except the first Sunday of the month. On those Sundays, children stay in the main service for the prayer and fasting service.
Do children take part in special church events?
Yes! Throughout the year, children in Sunday School, also known as the Hopeful Kids, often prepare songs, poems, dances and small performances for special occasions such as Mother’s/Father’s Day, Easter and Christmas. These moments are a wonderful way for children to share their gifts and take part in the life of the church.
